Title
2000s UAE Dubai Abu Dhabi Arabian Adventures Multiview Desert Safari Tourism Postcard

Front Description
Colour photographic multiview promotional card, comprising six images arranged in two rows of three, separated by curved white dividing bands that give the composition a flowing, wave-like structure, with an orange banner running across the foot of the card.

Upper left panel — an elevated coastal landscape view, most likely on the east coast at Fujairah or Khor Fakkan. A wide crescent bay of pale sand curves around deep turquoise-blue water, backed by a broad plantation of dark green date palms filling the foreground and middle ground. Low white and cream buildings line the shore, with a cluster of taller apartment blocks at the right. Behind rises a range of steep grey-brown mountains, with a white building perched on a spur at upper left and a communications mast on the ridge.

Upper centre panel — a traditional Emirati mud-brick fort, photographed from below against a pale sky. The walls are of buff-coloured mud plaster with a crenellated parapet of pointed merlons, pierced by small square openings and a barred window with a red-brown timber grille. A tall circular watchtower rises behind, likewise crenellated, with narrow slit openings. Green date palms grow in front, and stone steps lead up at the lower right.

Upper right panel — an interior scene in a souk or antiques shop. At the left an Emirati man in a white kandura and white embroidered ghutra headcloth kneels beside a display, handling a metal vessel. At the right a female visitor in a white T-shirt, blue jeans and dark sunglasses leans forward to examine the wares. Between them is a dense array of brass and silver antiques: coffee pots with long curved spouts, ewers, trays, bowls, incense burners, and further metalware on shelving behind.

Lower left panel — a four-wheel-drive vehicle in action on a wadi drive. A white GMC pick-up truck with a red and yellow side livery bearing the Arabian Adventures name powers through shallow water, throwing up a great sheet of white spray from its wheels. Behind rises a jagged brown rock ridge under a pale sky.

Lower centre panel — a modern city waterfront skyline at sunset, the whole image bathed in pink and mauve light. At the centre stands a tall pair of dramatic angular towers with sharply raked, blade-like crowns rising from a low white podium; further high-rise blocks in pink and grey stand behind. Palm trees line the waterfront promenade, and traditional wooden dhows are moored along the creek in the foreground, their reflections in the still water.

Lower right panel — an evening desert-camp entertainment scene. Under a canopy of woven matting hung with lanterns, a dancer in a golden-yellow costume performs on a carpeted floor, lit by a warm amber glow, her veil raised. Seated guests in casual clothing watch from cushions and rugs around the edges, with further figures visible in the shadows behind.

Along the bottom of the card runs a wide orange banner with a curved upper edge. At the left is the Arabian Adventures logo: a triangular outline enclosing stylised shapes in blue, red, yellow and green, with the words “Arabian Adventures” in blue beneath. To the right, in red lettering: “1001 Arabian Adventures to choose from ~ United Arab Emirates”.

Condition: glossy card stock, colours bright and clean. No writing to the front; light corner blunting and minor edge wear.

Back Description
Cream divided back with a green vertical dividing line. At the upper right, a rounded-rectangle outlined stamp box containing the words “POSTAGE STAMP”. Below it, a large rounded rectangle outlined in orange forms the address panel, headed “To” and ruled with five lines.

Across the lower third runs a broad orange band with a curved upper edge. At the left, the Arabian Adventures logo — a triangular outline enclosing stylised blue, red, yellow and green shapes — with the company name beneath in blue, and below that the web address “www.arabian-adventures.com”.

To the right, printed in blue across four lines:

“Head Office: Dubai, UAE. Tel: +971 4 343 9966, Fax: +971 4 343 9977.”
“Offices: Abu Dhabi, UAE. Tel: +971 2 691 1711, Fax: +971 2 691 1710,”
“Fujairah, UAE. Tel: +971 9 204 4057, Fax: +971 9 244 5082.”
“E-mail: ar****************@******es.com“

Unposted — no stamp, no postmark, no handwritten message, no address and no sender’s name. The back is clean and bright with no album mounting, no adhesive residue and no ink markings; a faint vertical handling crease runs through the lower centre, with slight corner rubbing.

Estimated Era
Circa 2000–2008, most probably the early-to-mid 2000s. The card is a promotional issue for Arabian Adventures, the destination management and tour operating arm of the Emirates Group, and the printed contact details give the closest dating evidence. The telephone and fax numbers are given in the eight-digit UAE format with the international prefix +971 — Dubai numbers were extended from seven to eight digits in 2001, which fixes a firm lower bound for this printing.

The card carries both an email address on the emirates.com domain and a full website URL, placing it after the general adoption of corporate web presence in the Gulf around the turn of the millennium, and reflecting the fully web-integrated marketing of the 2000s rather than the email-only contact details typical of UAE cards of the later 1990s.

The imagery is likewise consistent with this period: the dune-bashing GMC four-wheel-drive, the souk shopping excursion, the desert camp entertainment and the wadi drive represent the standard excursion portfolio marketed to visitors during the UAE tourism boom of the 2000s. The city skyline shown, with its dramatic bladed towers and dhow-lined creek, depicts the Emirates before the wave of super-tall construction that transformed the skyline from the later 2000s onward.
